Koh Mak Noi (เกาะหมากน้อย) is a remote island situated in the Andaman Sea between Phuket and Krabi provinces in Thailand. It's home to approximately 1,400 inhabitants and 250 households.  Recently, a dedicated team of ABBA members travelled to Koh Mak Noi for an extraordinary mission.

Firstly, we conducted an in-depth educational session where we explained the uses of each item in the Angel's baby basket, ensuring that every resident understood how to utilise these resources effectively. Our comprehensive workshop addressed a wide range of health issues, providing valuable information on prevention and management, tailored to the island's specific needs.

In collaboration with local health professionals, we developed personalised care plans for several families, focusing on improving maternal and child health. We had the honour of touring the island with P. May, the head of the local hospital, gaining a deeper understanding of the community's healthcare challenges and resources. This tour included visits to multiple homes where we personally interacted with mothers and their children, offering support and listening to their experiences. We also had a gathering session with 5 other mothers to collectively communicate and understand their needs. Additionally, our team organised and distributed three boxes of essential supplies, including beverages, snacks, and diapers, to ensure the well-being of children and families on the island. These donations were part of a broader initiative to provide ongoing support and build a sustainable future for Koh Mak Noi.

Our visit not only brought immediate relief and education but also laid the groundwork for continued collaboration and development. The positive feedback and enthusiasm from the islanders were overwhelming, reinforcing the importance of our mission and the incredible impact of our work.
